Senior Clinician Rehabilitation Physiotherapist

Grade 3, Full time fixed term (12-month maternity leave replacement)

Position Summary

The Grade 3 Senior Clinician Rehabilitation Physiotherapist is a clinical expert in rehabilitation, demonstrating high levels of specialist knowledge and superior consolidated skills. They are responsible for provision, co-ordination and development of Physiotherapy Rehabilitation services across multiple clinical areas and sites. They have currency of professional expertise and skills, and have experience acting on expert advisory committees.

The Grade 3 Senior Clinician Rehabilitation Physiotherapist is responsible for clinical leadership in the areas of quality, risk management and education. They are responsible for the supervision and professional development of individuals and teams including Grade 2, Grade 1 and AHA staff. They have effective skills to manage people, performance and systems, as well as initiate connections and develop relationships with external agencies.

The Grade 3 Senior Clinician Rehabilitation Physiotherapist has high level investigative skills and leads quality and research innovations for service growth and development. They contribute to the development of the Physiotherapy service and profession.

The Grade 3 Senior Clinician Rehabilitation Physiotherapist may be required to deputise for the Physiotherapy Team Leader. They understand wider organisational and public health influences on the acute and subacute public hospital service.

Requirements of the position are:

MANDATORY REGISTRATION, LICENSE OR QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Master of Physiotherapy or recognised equivalent

• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

• Current member, or eligible for membership, of Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA)

• A current Victorian Driver’s licence

• A Police Check that is current and within 12 months of the issue date

• Provision of valid Working with Children Check

• Provision of an NDIS Worker Screening Check

• COVID-19 Vaccination and seasonal influenza vaccination of healthcare workers in accordance with Secretary, Department of Health directions

OTHER ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Additional relevant qualifications or progression toward these, with a commitment to completion

• Demonstrated high level of clinical competence and specialist knowledge in specified area

• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and modelling of interdisciplinary practice

• Demonstrated ability to teach staff at all levels and across services, as well as members of the wider community

• Previous experience in supervision of staff and students

• Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal (including conflict resolution and negotiation)

• Dynamic and innovative-problem solving skills

• Demonstrated leadership skills

• Demonstrated skills in innovation, service development, and evaluation

• High level of organisational skills

• High level of computer literacy

• Understanding of health structures

DESIRABLE:

• Appropriate post-graduate qualifications in relevant field

• Research skills comparable to Masters level

• Minimum of 7 years clinical and leadership experience
