Who we are 

Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) owns, operates and invests in infrastructure which delivers gas to more than two million homes and businesses, and is one of the largest gas infrastructure businesses in Australia. AGIG manages over 40,000km of distribution networks, more than 4,300km of transmission pipelines and 60 petajoules of storage capacity. We employ over 470 people with an additional 1,600 contractors working on our assets.

AGIG is leading the way for the Australian renewable gas sector, and are committed to sustainable gas delivery today, and tomorrow. Our low carbon vision, targets 10% renewable gas in our distribution networks by no later than 2030, with full decarbonisation of our networks by 2040 as a stretch target and by no later than 2050.

About the Opportunity 

We are seeking capable, efficient and detail focused Release & Environment Lead to manage the release management lifecycle, including scheduling, coordinating, and managing releases across AGIG’s application landscape. The role entails working closely with internal and external stakeholders to plan, define, and implement release scope deliverables.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Developing and managing AGIG’s IT release management framework and capability
  • Ensuring release calendar is up‐to‐date and published
  • Management of vendors & stakeholders appropriately to meet delivery timelines.
  • Ownership of the end‐to‐end Release Management process across AGIG’s applications, ensuring that all releases are appropriately planned, scheduled, documented, assessed, approved, communicated, and implemented within agreed lead times
  • Management of risks to ensure release scope, schedule and quality are not impacted
  • Communicating release plans and providing regular updates to ensure stakeholders are informed of release changes
  • Management of non‐production environments including system refreshes and the allocation of environments to development and operational teams to support business outcomes
  • Governance over the entire release process, ensuring consistency and reliability
  • Generation of comprehensive release reports for stakeholders
  • Identification and recommendation of improvements to enhance efficiency and mitigate risks
  • Support of production transition update (migration/rehearsal/ cutover).

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in a technology related discipline, or related fields
  • Knowledge of Information Technology including: SDLC, Software Package Integration, the Information Technology industry, multiple products, systems, and relevant functional groups
  • Familiar with energy utility technology platforms with a focus on operations and service delivery
  • Understanding of ITIL practices, IT operations, DEVOPS and ITSM tools.
  • Understanding of application lifecycle frameworks and service delivery governance with the ability to manage deliverables, identify issues, risks, and dependencies.
  • Proven experience in Release and Environment management for enterprise‐class applications (preferably within the Utilities sector).
  • Experience working with Managed Services Provider(s).
