About the Role
This role is accountable for the daily operations of the kitchen and is required to lead and develop an effective, empowered and efficient team of hospitality staff and to effectively work with the Residence Manager, staff, residents and their families. This leadership will result in the delivery of a high-quality hospitality service to BlueCross residents. This service will be recognised as best practice, compliant and meeting food safety (HACCP) and accreditation standards.
Role Requirement
- Commercial Cookery background or Hospitality Qualification
- Food Safety Supervisor Health Competencies Qualifications
- Demonstrated hands on kitchen management experience in Aged Care/External catering contractor setting
- An understanding of the Aged Care Act 1997, Accreditation Standards and relevant legislation
- Sound financial/budget management experience
- Previous experience in the management of Food Safety Plans specific to Aged Care
- Previous experience in the design and implementation of nutritionally adequate and appropriate menus specific to Aged Care
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated prioritization and organization skills
- Proven ability and commitment to work autonomously
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate an operational team
- Commitment to maintain confidentiality in all matters
- Roster management skills
- Consultative approach with residents, staff, colleagues and other stakeholders
- MUST HAVE a car to attend all sites when needed
