The Role
Given the increasing volume of projects in our pipeline, we are seeking a mid-level Remedial / Structural Engineer for our new Western Sydney Office to join our dynamic team and provide valuable support to our company director.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing remedial construction projects, ensuring they meet all requirements, are delivered on time, and remain within budget. Your responsibilities will be varied, including conducting on-site engineering inspections, carrying out building defect inspections for the formulation and preparation of litigation building defect reports, managing engineering investigations, and drafting detailed technical reports and letters. You will also be tasked with developing repair scopes of work and specification documentation, overseeing construction phases, and fostering ongoing communication with clients and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.

Initial Duties include:
- Conduct site inspections and investigations of remedial and defect claims
- Prepare structural calculations (as required)
- Liaise with the project team, including clients, consultants and site-based management teams
- Prepare detailed reports on inspections and investigations.
- Draft and compile remedial building specifications & building defect reports
- Review and assess tenders in detail to make justified recommendations
- Assess contractor claims and contractual variations.
- Additional administrative tasks as required.

About you (Essential):
- Obtained Bachelor of Civil or Structural Engineering with eligibility of membership with Engineers Australia
- Prior experience with Remedial / Forensic / Structural Engineering is essential
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suites, including Excel, Project, Word
- Cloud-based file systems
- High-level written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects, and meet required deadlines whilst maintaining a high quality of work
- Technical report writing skills
- An eye for detail and a collaborative spirit for effective team dynamics
- Experience in contract administration is desirable
- Must have own transport and current Drivers Licence
- Must have fluent, high-level English and be eligible to work in Australia
