Removalist - Warehouse Assistant - General Hand (Property Styling Industry)

The Hired Home is a boutique Property Styling company that was founded in January 2014.  We service clients across the Sydney metropolitan; however, our primary clients are focused in and around the Inner West and Lower North Shore. Our warehouse is centrally located in Marrickville.

We are looking for an energetic and proactive Removalist - Warehouse Assistant - General Hand to join our friendly team.

This is a full-time role Monday to Friday, and involves preparation of hire furniture to residential homes. You must be physically fit, including core strength, agility and stamina. The position requires that you have great planning and organisational skills as meeting strict deadlines in a schedule driven environment is very important to us. It's a hands-on job, requiring you to work alone but also love working in a team environment. Our warehouse is a fun and fast paced environment.

About the role:

• Picking pre-selected furniture and accessories
• Loading/unloading delivery vehicles and ensuring furniture and soft furnishings are carefully stored in their designated areas
• Assist stylist placing furniture, hanging art, cleaning furniture and minor repairs
• Maintaining/cleaning furniture as needed as well as general warehouse housekeeping duties
• Assembly of furniture and minor repairs
• Receiving and logging returned jobs
• Keeping warehouse/company vehicles in orderly and tidy condition 
• Organisation of weekly/daily truck run sheets
• Organising ad hoc removal company coverage when needed

The ideal candidate:

• Available Monday to Friday, 7am-3pm
• Previous experience in a similar warehouse role or experience working with furniture is preferred but not essential
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Fit, friendly, well-presented, and able to cope with the physical demands of the job
• Comfortable using computer systems 
• Strong commitment to safety
• Drivers’ licence is essential 

We hire on attitude not experience. Training will be provided.
