As part of our expansion, we are seeking a highly motivated Operations & Maintenance Plant Manager for our Columboola Solar Farm project located near Chinchilla, QLD.
The Columboola Solar Farm is a 162MWAC or 202.5 MWDC utility scale generation project situated on 410 hectares of land in Western Downs, Queensland. The site is located approximately 10km north-east of Miles. When fully operational, the Solar Farm will generate approximately 440 GWh of Renewable Energy per year – enough energy to power 75,000 homes for 35 years.
The Position:
The Plant Manager will be responsible for the Operation & Maintenance of the Solar Plant. Maintaining the Plant in accordance with the developed Annual Maintenance Plan, and in accordance with all of the installed equipment manufacturers recommendations, and all contractual requirements, as delineated within the Operations & Maintenance contract between SWA and the Plant Owner.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Provide the necessary support to the site team for the smooth running of the Plant Operations.
- Responsible for the plant and/or any substation operations and maintenance to every aspect.
- To perform plant performance analysis and take the necessary corrective action to optimise the plant performance.
- To maintain engineering records, lists and reports as required to ensure compliance with the work schedule, adherence to budget, adherence to design specification and to ensure engineering problems are monitored and resolved.
- Ensuring that all operations and maintenance activities are carried out safely and in accordance with JSA's SWMS and proper work permit system assisting and supporting the construction team in any activity where O&M help is necessary throughout the EPC to O&M transition phase.
- Managing the O&M Team onsite, made up of O&M Technicians and Operators.
About you:
- At least 2 years experience in a similar role within the Renewable Energy industryn (solar preferable).
- AU Electrical Licence, White Card and LVRCPR.
- HV Switching Certificate and First Aid (Desired, training can be provided for the role)
- Strong WHS awareness.
- Must hold full AU driving licence.
- Looking for a permanent position.
- Willing to work onsite on an agreed roster.
Further Requirements:
- Familiar with local electrical guidelines and Australian Standards.
- AC and DC electrical field equipment.
- LV/HV electrical testing equipment and maintenance activities.
- Working knowledge of CMMS systems, SCADA, Comms (modbus), Inverters, Power Conversion Stations, Technical Structures, Tracker Systems, PV Array understanding & HV/MV Switchyards.
- Ability to read and understand drawings, diagrams, equipment manuals & specifications.
- Ability to prepare SWMS for activities related to O&M.
- Should have prior experience in communication with AEMO/Grid operators for O&M activities which are necessary and as per contractual obligation.
