The Opportunity 

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Renewables & Transmission Performance Optimisation Analyst to join us in our Engineering & Planning team Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne or Sydney on a Permanent full-time basis. 

Reporting to the Power Performance Optimisation Manager, you will play a key role in the optimisation of APA’s Power Generation Assets. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Optimise the performance of APA power generation assets, extracting maximum value to meet the nameplate capacity of the assets
  • Support in achieving APA’s emissions reduction targets by running APA Power assets in the most efficient way possible
  • Manage generation lifecycle costs though creation, maintenance and socialisation of operational plans aligned with business strategic imperatives 
  • Incorporate evidence-based analysis and creative problem-solving into effective advice so that plant operators may achieve optimum financial performance of power generation systems
  • Create, maintain, and automate datasets and reports to effectively communicate plant performance to leadership and decision makers

Your background  

  • Demonstrated expertise with merit order dispatch, financial analysis of energy systems, and/or maintenance of energy market models
  • Experience in development and execution of system optimisation strategies
  • An expert data-user, incorporating a variety of sources and types of data into your solutions
  • Experience interpreting contracts 
  • Proven collaboration and influencing capability, applied across diverse groups of internal and external stakeholders

Our team is comprised of highly skilled engineers who work tirelessly to ensure that our power generation and transmission facilities are operating at peak performance. From maintenance strategy to outage management, we strive to optimise every aspect of our operations to ensure APA’s assets keep up with expectations of customers, the community and APA’s vision to be world class.
