About the RoleAre you an experienced reporter with strong investigative and/or video journalist skills? This is a vibrant opportunity to join the ABC's nightly current affairs flagship program, 7.30.Reporting to the Executive Producer, you will be responsible for generating high quality news stories in innovative and visually striking ways as well as contributing to strong 7.30 journalism on digital platforms.
- Create excellent long form current affairs stories
- Produce top of the rundown, important, agenda setting stories
- Stay abreast of political, social and economic issues
- Maintain excellent business, political and general contacts
- Produce high quality content for the digital platform
About YouYou are an energetic self-starter with a track record for original breaking stories that have an impact on the national agenda. If you also have the following capabilities, we would love to hear from you:
- Solid writing investigative and story-telling skills
- A strong grasp of political, social and economic issues with excellent contacts
- Aptitude for producing sophisticated current affairs television-making
- Resourcefulness and ability to work independently
- Video Journalist experience for TV current affairs
- Excellent communication skills
- Extensive experience in a digital news environment
