About the Role
Are you excited about working across various teams within a business and assisting with decision-making? This is a perfect opportunity for a Reporting Engagement Manager to join our team and support both Chancellery divisions and faculties. You'll showcase how data, reporting, and insights can assist with decision-making and drive value for departments and faculties. By achieving this, you'll work closely with stakeholders in different business units and gain a thorough understanding of their data requirements and priorities. You will utilise your leadership skills in managing the Reporting Engagement team, including task management, monitoring, performance management, and line management.

You will ensure adherence to Data Governance policies and procedures within the University. You're also pivotal in building the reputation of the USD team by leveraging the capabilities of enterprise data assets. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Build business acumen and data expertise, drive team performance and efficiencies whilst ensuring cross skilling and knowledge transfer occurs to reduce single point sensitivity risks.
  • Lead user training activities across the Enterprise Reporting platform
  • Collaborate with stakeholders through regular meetings to ensure reporting solutions meet both strategic and operational objectives
  • Produce detailed functional requirements specifications for enterprise reporting solutions

Who We Are Looking For
We're seeking a Reporting Engagement expert to join us, someone who demonstrates strong communication skills and possesses the ability to build and maintain robust relationships with diverse stakeholders. You should also excel at translating data into easily understandable language, empowering stakeholders to make strategic decisions based on the data and reporting.

You will also have:

  • Proven experience managing, coaching and developing a team of reporting analysts to consistently provide a high level of customer service
  • Strong business acumen with an ability to pick up business data concepts quickly and understand how data can be leveraged to provide insights and assist in decision making
  • Extensive experience in SQL and ‘Business Intelligence’ reporting or visualisation tools
  • Experience with triaging and prioritising user requests

The Operational Performance Group delivers functions that facilitate the design, evaluation, and improvement of services across the University and business partnering services to Chancellery.

The University Decision Support function provides the University with a high-quality data asset and reporting and analytical services to support the corporate function, assist students in obtaining an education successfully, and facilitate the effective delivery of university-based research.
