The Manager, Restorative Engagement will play a vital role supporting the department of education to implement the Victorian Government's commitment to establishing a Restorative Engagement program for adult victim-survivors of institutional child sexual abuse in government schools.
The Manager, in collaboration with senior leaders, will be responsible for the design, implementation and ongoing management of this important work, with a key element being consultation with victim survivors, their families, supporters and affected communities.
The Department of Education is seeking an experienced manager with excellent communication skills, attention to detail, empathy, resilience, and a passion and commitment for child safety in schools and Restorative Engagement for former students who have been harmed in the care of the Victorian government school system. The Manager will need to demonstrate extensive understanding of trauma-informed approaches to responding to child sexual abuse and the Victorian government school system. Qualifications in social sciences, counselling, law, or other relevant qualification is essential.
The Manager, Restorative Engagement, will be responsible for people management and leadership of a team within a broader Restorative Engagement and School Support branch, and will report directly to the Director of that branch.
The Restorative Engagement and School Support branch sits within the department's Operational Policy, School Engagement and Compliance Division - a supportive, respectful, positive and collaborative team with a culture of high integrity, responsiveness and accountability.
