Research Assistant
ACRF Translational Research Laboratory – Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre
- Full Time 12 month role – 80 hours per fortnight with monthly paid day off
- Work as part of a team contributing to improvement in cancer treatment and care

The ACRF Translational Research Laboratory is a team of clinicians and laboratory scientists working together to improve the treatment of patients diagnosed with blood cancers. Our laboratory is instrumental in the design and activation of clinical trials incorporating biobanking and biomarker analyses and currently supports the activities of more than 25 prospective clinical trials.
Your experience in translational immunology research will be utilised to support multiple projects across the laboratory. This is a full time position for 1 year with renewal subject to funding.
Your new role:
- Work as part of a team in a flexible and high quality translational research environment.
- Undertake translational and biomarker research across a range of clinical conditions with a focus on blood cancers.
- Use state of the art techniques in the laboratory including flow cytometry, gene expression profiling, digital spatial profiling, video microscopy and immune function assays.
- Undertake projects using clinically derived samples from patients, applying high quality assays and investigating the factors that determine clinical outcomes, treatment efficacy and exploring ways of improving the treatment of disease.
About you:
- You hold a Bachelor of Science (Honours) or equivalent.
- You bring experience in one or more fields of Immunology, Haematology and Oncology, as well as experience working in translational research.
- You demonstrate a high level of project management, with excellent record keeping and IT skills.
- You work well in a collaborative multidisciplinary team environment.
