About the Role
We're seeking a motivated Sleep Scientist with research experience to contribute to our investigations into sleep and breathing dysfunction in neuromuscular diseases. The primary purpose of this role is to contribute to the outputs from of a Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) clinical trial. This includesanalysing sleep studies and supporting trial activities. While based primarily in Heidelberg, the role may involve travel to multi-centre trial sites across Australia and potentially overseas.

Your responsibilities will include the ability to:

  • Demonstrate efficiency and competence in the analysis and reporting of sleep study tests, in particular non-invasive ventilation studies.
  • Perform complex sleep monitoring procedures.
  • Develop or build upon an understanding of the key areas in sleep and breathing neuromuscular disease research.
  • Accurately and efficiently manage data records and data enter

Who We Are Looking For
An individual who possesses strong troubleshooting skills, excels in collaborative environments, and demonstrates both team and individual work capabilities.

You will also be required to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, allied health, nursing, or similar.
  • Experience working in a sleep laboratory performing and analysing sleep studies.
  • Demonstrated high-level organisational skills (the ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, initiate and follow-up actions, including frequent reminders of timelines, all with appropriate levels of direct supervision)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) requirements and adherence to the ICH-GCP and WHO guidelines for the conduct of scientific research or the willingness to undertake GCP training.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check (WWCC). This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate does not have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
