Our client, based in Perth’s northern suburbs, is a medical device company delivering clinically superior solutions that help healthcare professionals create life-changing outcomes for patients.
They currently have an opening for a Research Laboratory Technician to assist with the layout and execution of Research and Development Laboratory projects. This is a full time 9 month contract.
The role has a combination of duties including
- Assistance with all experimental procedures during execution in the R&D Laboratory.
- Independent execution of routine experimental procedures once the required skill level is achieved.
- Preparation of tissue samples and operational handling of the Differential Scanning Calorimeter during crosslink stability assessment of R&D samples
- Operational handling of the Lloyd Tensile Tester and Burst Tester (calibration, cutting and mounting of tissue and measurement).
- Compliance with internal SOPs and relevant HSE regulations.
- Keep up to date with Cardio-Thoracic Surgical Science by reading relevant peer reviewed journals.
- Histology preparation and imaging
- AWT and Pulse Duplicator testing and maintenance
- Calibration and maintenance of lab equipment.
- Protocol and report writing.
- A BSc in a relevant scientific field and experience in GLP practises.
- Trained & experienced in Differential Scanning Calorimetry & Sample Prep
- Trained & experienced in Tensile Testing methodology
- Trained in basic chemistry methodology
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft computer software.
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills.
- Pay-rate $45/hr.
