Job description

Tennant Creek Women's Refuge (TCWR) seeks an experienced and dedicated Service Coordinator to oversee daily operations and deliver high-quality services to women and children affected by domestic and family violence in the Barkly Region.

About the role

As the Services Coordinator (reporting to the General Manager), you'll lead the day-to-day operations of TCWR across its three main programs, managing the residential facility, outreach service and counselling services.

You’ll focus on managing all aspects of effective service delivery and holistic wrap-around support for clients; and maintaining cooperative relationships with other local community and family services to achieve seamless service delivery.

Your capacity to manage, provide practice support and supervision for a cross-cultural local workforce of around ten is critical, including delegating work effectively and setting clear expectations to understand their duties and build their confidence.

Managing program assets and expenditure within budgets is also important; and program monitoring, data collection and reporting will help improve our programs.

About TCWR

Tennant Creek Women’s Refuge is the only DFV specialised crisis accommodation service in the Barkly region. With a committed team of ten local staff and funding of approximately $1.3M per year, TCWR provides client-centred, culturally safe and trauma-informed support across its programs, which include:

  • Crisis Accommodation, support, referrals, case management and outreach – for any women and their children who are victims of or at risk of domestic or family violence.
  • Domestic Violence Counselling Service including Community Education.
  • Critical Intervention Outreach Service.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you’ll have a proven track record as a Program or Service Coordinator within the domestic and family violence (DFV) sector. Ideally, this will include managing a residential accommodation facility and experience working with Aboriginal women and their families.

Strong organisational and administrative abilities are essential; and your supportive leadership style will enable you to supervise and develop a diverse team of program staff.

You’ll have a sound understanding of the DFV context (legislation, policies and community resources), and if you’re new to Tennant Creek, you’ll be able to quickly build relationships and local knowledge.

Due to the nature of the role, only female applicants are eligible. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.

About the Benefits

This challenging and rewarding role is an opportunity to make a real contribution, working with an exceptional Board of sector leaders and a strong, supportive professional network.

A package circa $118,200 includes base salary (Level 6 of the SCHAADS award), six weeks annual leave, leave loading, superannuation and salary sacrifice arrangements.  In addition, accommodation / rental support and relocation assistance may be negotiated depending on the circumstances of the successful candidate.

Join us in creating a positive work environment and making a difference in our team's growth and success.

Before you apply, please review the Candidate Information Pack available at www.mobct.com.au/client-recruiting, then send your application by email to ****@mobct.com.au or apply via the relevant jobs site. Your application should include:

  • A cover letter highlighting what you can bring to this role (maximum 2 pages)
  • Your current CV

(Note there is no requirement to respond to selection criteria at this stage of the recruiting process.)

Applications close: Applications will be reviewed as they are received and interviews will commence early-mid February.
