Employment Type: 2 x Maximum Term Part Time positions available - 10-month contract.
Hours per week: 8hrs per week
Position Grade: Health Services Manager Level 1
Salary: $81,581 - $108,532 (Pro rata) base salary per annum

About the role:
A vacancy exists in the above unit for a highly motivated Research Officer with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high-quality patient centred care. The successful applicant(s) will be expected to be able to work on the supportive care in cancer research project, working with First Nations people with cancer and their families.
The successful candidates will be expected to work closely with collaborators in a multi-disciplinary team. All work must be conducted in a safe, reliable and efficient manner with a commitment to the principles of Good Clinical Practice and in accordance with all local health and safety policies.
Our focus is on exceptional allied health research. A strong background and a proven record in research activities would be an advantage. The position is available for 10 months with the possibility of renewal. Salary and conditions will be in accordance with qualification and experience.

About you:
We are seeking a skilled and energetic
Research Officer
who possess a passion for person centred care. The successful candidates will be expected to work closely with collaborators in a multi-disciplinary team.

Selection Criteria
Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries.
Be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background. An applicant’s race is a genuine occupation qualification and is authorised by Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW). Confirmation of Aboriginality will be required.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in health sciences from a recognised tertiary organization and/or relevant experience.
Ability to write journal articles, grant applications and reports or willingness to learn.
Demonstrated communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Computer literacy skills (required) and experience using REDCap, NVIVO, SPSS or other statistical software (desirable).
Demonstrated commitment to own personal and professional development and to workplace health and safety including an awareness of the principles of confidentiality, privacy and information handling in conducting research.
