This is an exciting opportunity to develop your expertise and advance your emerging research profile within your discipline. Contribute to service and engagement activities while working in a dynamic and supportive environment.Key responsibilities will include:Develop a research program around co-toxic Liver Disease, including pre-clinical models and cellular and molecular biology techniques.Prepare research publications, progress reports, and participate in regular meetings to discuss project objectives, methodology, and outcomes. Collaborate with colleagues and postgraduates on joint research projects and applications for external funding.Contribute to the effective supervision and development of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students, demonstrating personal effectiveness in supervision and researcher development.This is a research focused position. Further information can be found by viewing UQ’s .This is a full-time (100%), fixed-term position through to 31st December 2024At Academic level A. The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $77,324 - $102,945, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $90,470 - $120,445 annually.As these roles are covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases in line with the Enterprise Agreement.The greater of joining the UQ community are broad: from being part of a university, to recognition of prior service with other Australian universities, up to 26 weeks of paid parental leave, 17.5% annual leave loading, flexible working arrangements including and flexible start/finish times, and genuine career progression opportunities via the academic promotions process.About YouCompletion or near completion of a PhD in the area of Liver Disease.An emerging profile in research in the Liver Disease and demonstrated skills in molecular and cellular biology techniques.Evidence of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences.Excellence in written and verbal scientific communication.Demonstrated capacity to work in a team environment.In addition, the following mandatory requirements apply:Work Rights: You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply.
