Residential Youth Workers are committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for young individuals to foster their personal and social development. Key Outcomes
Position responsibilities
- Undertake a range of activities requiring the application of established work procedures within clearly established procedures and/or guidelines.
- Respond to enquiries, assist with administrative functions / special projects, and achieve outcomes which are clearly defined.
- Provide support requiring the exercise of sound judgment, initiative, confidentiality, and sensitivity in the performance of work.

Key Relationships
- Works collaboratively with Anglicare NQ Executives, Managers, Staff and Volunteers.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with Anglicare NQ partners, other Non-Government Organisations (NGO) and local community businesses.
- QLD and Commonwealth Government Departments, e.g., Department of Human Services, Department of Children, Youth Justice and Multicultural Affairs and other government departments as required.
Special Conditions
- Hold a current QLD drivers licence ‘Class C’ or interstate equivalent
- Blue Card (Working with children card)
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification
- Satisfactory Employment Screening Assessment(s) required for this role in line with Anglicare NQ Policy:
- National Policy Check
- LCS2 - Out of hours may be required from time to time
- Client transportation required and/or client visitation outside of the office required
Selection Criteria
Essential
- Basic skills in oral and written communication with clients and public members
- Knowledge of established work practices, procedures and policies
- Appropriate certificate relevant to work being performed
- Experience in relevant industry or Diploma if no experience industry
Highly Regarded
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, families and communities.
- Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
