About the Role
With a focus on both resource creation and quality assurance, this role provides a unique chance to positively impact the educational landscape and contribute to the enhancement of primary English teaching materials.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing primary English (F-6) educational resources in line with approved curriculum mapping.
  • Creating lesson plans, resources/artifacts, and summative assessment tasks aligned with the English Victorian Curriculum 2.0.
  • Supporting the implementation of the curriculum through resource creation.
  • Ensuring created resources adhere to the Department’s style guidelines and quality standards.

Who We Are Looking For
You possess a strong background in primary education and Primary English curriculum and lesson plan development, coupled with meticulous attention to detail. You are proficient in proofreading, editing, and ensuring adherence to departmental guidelines and standards. You pride yourself on your collaborative nature and commitment to supporting the effective implementation of the curriculum.

You also have:

  • Knowledge of contemporary theoretical and policy debates and practice within the primary English and reading area.
  • Experience teaching in primary schools in Australia.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and constructively in teams, including multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong digital literacy, in line with the University’s commitment to digital pedagogies in research, learning and teaching.

This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.

The Languages and Literacies Academic Group brings together academics in languages and literacies from a range of education focussed contexts, including the early years, primary, secondary and tertiary settings, and into adulthood. The Academic Group is located within the FoE. Its aims include: Creating new knowledge on issues shaping the disciplines of language and literacy through collaboration with stakeholders, providing world-class graduate courses which develop expertise in language and literacy education, organising events which bring together academics, policy-makers, government and non-government institutions, practitioners and community representatives to discuss key language and literacy issues, and further knowledge, supporting masters and doctoral level research students to pursue academic study, and tendering for research grants and consultancy.
