Princes Court has three business units: Princes Court Homes - a 100-bed facility in a residential setting, Princes Court Village - 55 secure, independent retirement units, and Princes Court At Home - providing quality homecare service.

Your Next Opportunity:

We currently have an opportunity for a Respite Care Coordinator to join our team at Princes Court at Home. 

This is a part-time position (3 days per week).

The Respite Care Coordinator will work as part of the GreenCare Respite Services Delivery team ensuring services are delivered in line with the organisation’s responsibility to the current and future operational guidelines, and legislative requirements.


The person in this role will be responsible for implementing best practice and approaches across all areas and undertake duties in a way that contributes to a positive impact on the experience of carers and persons living with dementia. The role is responsible for ensuring services are delivered within a person-centred care framework with a focus on outcomes for the carer and person living with dementia (PLWD). The person in this role will participate on committee/s to support the design of the GreenCare Respite programme.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential:
• Empathy and understanding for people who are living with dementia, their carers and respect for their environment.
• Attention to detail of service delivery in a person-centred model
• Understanding of wellness and enablement principles and application to delivery of care services
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise workload
• An understanding and knowledge of Aged Care and/or NDIS service provision within Victoria
• Capacity to work independently and as part of a team
• Effective computer skills (word processing, data base, internet, email)
• Current drivers license, NDIS worker screening check, National Police clearance, and current first aid certificate.
• Good problem-solving skills
Desirable:
• Qualifications in Aged Care, Disability or Community Care Services Work or similar (minimum Certificate III).
• Experience working with persons from diverse backgrounds
• Dementia Care experience
• Further study or qualifications in dementia care
• Desire to continue own education
• Experience working in a similar role and/or aged care
