Mr Sushi King Pty Ltd is seeking a full time Chef to join our friendly and motivated team. To be considered for this role you should have Australian work rights.

Position: Chef

Job type: Full-time (38 Hours per week)

Salary: $70,000 p/a

Skills & Qualifications:

• Have at least 2 years of work experience as a Chef
• Have relevant trade qualification(Certificate IV In Cookery or higher)
• Organisational skills
• Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
• Knife skills and knowledge of cutting techniques
• Ability to work under pressure
• Awareness of food safety and hygiene standards

Duties & Responsibilities: 

·      Preparing for service and cooking all types of dishes according to the menu Demonstrating culinary techniques and supervising on cooking procedures.

·      Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.

·      Coordinating with wait staff to ensure customers’ special requests and food allergies.

·      Checking the inventory and ordering required ingredients.

·      Communicating with floor and other kitchen staff, cooking and serving food.

·      Cooperating with managers and kitchen and waiting staff for food preparation issues.

·      Maintaining hygiene principles in all cooking areas and ensuring the work environment is spotless is essential.

·      Managing and training kitchen staffs and apprentices in the kitchen.

·      Planning new menus and estimating food consumption and labour costs.

·      Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment.

·      Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities.

·      Keeping records and accounts of food purchases.

·      Preparing any necessary sauces or accompaniments before meal service begins.

·      Communicating with teams about how to improve meal service.
