The Role
As the Restaurant Manager you'll be expected to run the show, greeting guests at the door and schmoozing regulars while maintaining a first-class style of service. It’s about being the face of the venue for the customers and for the staff.
It's not yet open, so you will be responsible for putting all the pieces together, with a supportive upper management team to assist you and collaborate with.
The clientele are foodies and locals who you will need to become familiar with and create an environment that they will love and return to on a regular basis. It’s all about building the clientele and getting to know them on a personable level – remembering them, what they like to drink, where they like to sit – all the little details are important, so it’s in your best interest to win them over and with your savvy charm and thorough wine knowledge.
There is the day to day elements (outlined below), in addition to this we are looking for a someone who really embodies "hospitality" and creates that sense of warmth and inviting atmosphere.
It is worth mentioning that your role will be leading from the front and working on the floor yourself as well as doing your management duties either side of the service period, this includes administrative duties such as answering emails promptly and organizing functions.
- Hands-on running of the Restaurant
- Opening and closing of the property including cashing up etc
- Rostering for front of house staff and maintaining the budgeted labour cost
- Liaising and working harmoniously with the Chefs and BOH staff
- Developing networks and building the clientele through the database
Requirements
Ability to run a charming and busy venue, being prepared to step in when required is a must. Ideally you'll have a cool temperament while maintaining happy staff and customers.
Personality We are looking for that really warm, engaging and welcoming personality. Someone that can make all guests feel comfortable and want to come back again and again.
This a very open role for anyone who has the right attitude and enthusiasm to be a success. You will naturally come from a background of restaurant management with a focus on wine, looking for a job that offers a work/life balance. Having a presence on the floor is where you find yourself most drawn to. With a positive energy and stacks of confidence, you will lead the floor team by example.
Rewards
Salary range is up to $95K+ Super + Tips, depending on experience, for the right candidate. Plus a work-life balance 45 hours a week.
