Job DescriptionThis position will support the Retail Management team in delivering against the commercial strategy across three key strategic commercial
Retail Contracts - Advertising, Currency Exchange and Unattended Retail. This role works to deliver strong retail outcomes, relationships and leverages commercial opportunities within these partnerships.Your key focus will predominately be to optimise the performance of the three strategic retail partners (Advertising, Currency Exchange and Unattended Retail) including driving sales revenue, maximising rental incomes, removing any blocks and leading negotiations. Other responsibilities include identifying opportunities to add value to the commercial business as well as managing costs associated with the retail partners.In this role, you will have the opportunity to
- Liaise frequently with retail partners and hold regular performance and development meetings, driving a customer-centric approach.
- Act as a conduit between retail partners and SYD, establishing clear goals and accountability to grow each portfolio.
- Support the retail strategy, ensuring partners adhere to agreements on trading hours, standards, and restrictions, taking action when required.
- Collaborate with Accounts Receivables to ensure nil collectible debt and arrears for all tenants.
- Manage stakeholder relationships, including support, financial management (abatements), and collaborative partnerships.
- Analyse the financial performance of retail partners, identifying trends and factors affecting performance.
- Work with the Leasing team on new, amended, or negotiated leases.
- Liaise with Marketing and Brand Connect to ensure promotional activities align with the business plan.
- Manage monthly Business Reviews, including KPI analysis, turnover results, and insights from retail partners to drive action plans.
- Identify business growth opportunities through performance enhancement, new opportunities, or continuous process improvements.
- Contribute to business development and leasing activities.
QualificationsAre you a solution-focused, proactive self-starter with strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills? As our
Retail Contracts Manager, you'll lead cross-functional collaboration, build positive relationships, and foster teamwork to develop win-win partnerships. With at least 5 years of experience in shopping centre or property management environments, and ideally some exposure to advertising, you’ll bring a deep understanding of retail and advertising business dynamics. Your strategic and visionary thinking, combined with your ability to implement innovative solutions, will drive success at Sydney Airport.Your effective communication skills and ability to maintain strong relationships and influence key stakeholders will be crucial. You excel in critical thinking, seeking out information, evaluating it, and solving complex problems. Your top-notch negotiation skills, strong report writing, financial analysis, and business performance management abilities ensure favourable outcomes and high engagement. Most importantly, your customer-focused approach ensures that outstanding customer service and experience are reflected in everything you do.
