About the Role
SIMON JOHNSON Store Managers are people who have a passion for food and customer service. They demonstrate extensive food retail experience, with a solid understanding of operating systems. They can build successful teams, work within budgets, and exceed expectations. They lead by example.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Customer Service
- The ability to provide exceptional customer service at all times - where the customer will have a memorable and meaningful experience in our store.
- Help build the customer base through high levels of customer service
- Provide extensive product knowledge
- Sales
- Meet monthly sales budgets – achieve targets on all levels with the objective of increasing revenue and exceeding expectations, while managing costs and working within the budget
- Teams
- Build strong teams through strong communication, regular training, motivation and a sense of fairness and team spirit. Ensure an air of professionalism is always encouraged.
- Store Experience
- Ensure the store is clean and always looking its best through displays, look and feel and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
- Ensure all ensure all work areas, machinery, furniture, utensils, equipment are cleaned and well maintained
- Work to company QA standards
- Stock Management
- Managing all movements of incoming/outgoing goods
- Accuracy in transfers, purchases, and invoices
- Maintain pricing and POS invoicing through: bar-coding, pricing and labelling; ensuring that procedures are followed; and monitoring prices of other local retailers to ensure market competitiveness
- Products on shelves are label correctly
- Process and complete regular cycles of stock-takes
- Follow company processes for month end requirements
- Manage used-by and/or BB dates in the store through stock rotation and management
- Operate POS registers and ensure banking processes are completed and accurate
- Daily banking to be reconciled and secure
Skills and Experience:
- Prior experience in food retail will be viewed favourably
- Experience in customer service-oriented roles
- POS experience is an advantage
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook).
- Strong work ethic with weekend availability
- Organisational & time management capabilities with a focus on multitasking and reprioritising
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal
- Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines
- Positive attitude, proactive and shows initiative and works well under pressure
- A can-do, team-focused attitude is essential for success
- Strong interpersonal skills – ability to liaise confidently with customers and team members – excellent customer service skills
- Attention to detail - Accurate key entry skills
