Our client is a unique brand of performance Sleep systems, already sold throughout Australia within Mattress and department stores. Following significant success internationally, they are now looking to expand. They are opening their first Australia Flagship store, on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. They pride themselves on THE PERFORMANCE BRAND in sleep: utilising similar technologies and materials that are used in the sporting apparel markets.
About the role:
We want you to manage the day-to-day sales and operation of first Australian Flagship store. Reporting directly to (and supported by) the APAC senior brand leadership team.
- Responsible for supervising and rostering up to 2 part time sales assistants.
- Providing sleep product sales advice to consumers in the area of Pillow fitting, Mattress fitting and all associated sleep products. You need to demonstrate that you are a hands-on sale focused store leader and motivator of your small team.
Essential Functions (include but not limited to):
- Meet sales budgets.
- Be hands on with all customers and deliver the sales interaction methods as per company’s training standards.
- Become proficient in the use of the POS system: Retail Express
- Overall responsibility for staff rostering ensuring store cover is maintained.
- Assisting in local area lead generation e.g. connecting with local gyms, fitness instructors, sporting organisations.
- Maintains up-to-date product knowledge.
- Assist in the recruiting and training of part time sales staff.
- Assisting with Mall management driven administrative requirements e.g. opening and closing hours, adhering to mall service and operating standards.
- Placing purchase orders on local suppliers, tracking/coordinating delivery to either the store or direct to customers’ homes. Receiving of stock and liaising with customers to ensure efficient fulfilment of customer orders.
- Professional and courteous handling of customer queries including after sales in bound calls and emails.
- Maintain sales activity reports and provide performance feedback of sales staff.
- Cash reconciliation and banking.
- Maintain in-store merchandising, store layout and cleanliness standards.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Background in Retail Store management or supervision would be advantageous.
- Must be legally authorized to permanently work in Australia.
- English proficient (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension)
- Computer savvy; familiar with retail POS.
- Some weekend work is essential
Education/Experience/Life skills
- 2+ years working at a senior level in a Retail Store environment where demonstration and detailed explanation of products was integral.
- Background in staff supervision and training.
- Mattress and bedding accessories experience preferable, but not essential
- Experience teaching sales techniques to others
