The role

This is a new role within our Underwritten Workers Compensation business, with the primary purpose to improve the Return to Work (RTW) outcomes of higher risk worker's compensation cases through influencing and hands-on support to key stakeholders while delivering a positive customer experience. The role will liaise with stakeholders on claims to reduce barriers to RTW through strategic interventions, collaborative planning, education and resources, as well as assist with the design and implementation of national RTW strategies.

You'll be responsible for

  • Collaborating with Team Managers and Case Managers to pinpoint high-risk claims requiring hands-on Return-to-Work (RTW) support for overcoming obstacles.

  • Interact in-person, virtually, and verbally with workers, employers, treating practitioners, and providers to jointly devise and execute a personalized and comprehensive RTW solution.

  • Participate in medical case conferences and site visits, as appropriate, to strategize, initiate, and advance RTW in a safe, timely, and enduring manner.

  • Aid the Case Manager in executing the agreed RTW strategy by implementing targeted rehabilitation and other interventions, as well as prompt approvals when necessary.

  • Ensure a positive service experience for all workers, employers, and external providers.

  • Assist small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) employers through the RTW process, providing education to enhance their capability and improve claim outcomes.

About you

  • Over 3 years of experience in managing personal injuries, including roles in case management, workplace rehabilitation, RTW coordination, Injury Management Coordination, or equivalent.

  • Possession of a Certificate IV in Personal Injury Management, Diploma of Personal Injury & Disability Insurance Management, or a relevant Allied Health degree is advantageous.

  • Proficient in building effective relationships, influencing, and negotiating with stakeholders to attain positive RTW outcomes.

  • Capable of making independent decisions and collaborating effectively in both anticipated and unexpected situations, taking responsibility for the consequences of those decisions.

  • Exhibit high levels of coordination, flexibility, and autonomy in professional endeavors.
