Revenue Accounting Manager

About the Opportunity

To help us achieve this we are seeking an experienced Revenue Accounting Manager to join our Financial Services team. This newly created role will lead revenue and billing management, with oversight of client billing process, rates, water and sundry debtor management, analysis, reporting and escalations.

The Manager Revenue Accounting will ensure the efficient and effective management of revenue streams, including general debtors, rates, water charges, and debt recovery.

This role is pivotal in maintaining financial stability by overseeing accurate billing, timely collection of debts, and adherence to Council policies and regulatory guidelines set by the Office of Local Government (OLG).

The Manager Revenue Accounting contributes to the development of council policies, implements robust debt recovery strategies, and provides leadership in Revenue Accounting practices to optimise revenue collection and support the organisation's financial goals.

The Manager Revenue Accounting will be integral in Identifying and driving improvement opportunities relevant to the Revenue function, confirming proper internal controls are in place and ensuring compliance with Accounting Standards.

To succeed in this role you will have:

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting, commerce or related field.
• Completed or sufficiently advanced CPA/CA Program.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in rating and revenue systems and ability to interpret and implement such systems.
• Knowledge of Local Government legislation relating to revenue raising and collection.
• Substantial experience in the use of spreadsheets and word processing software.
• Experience in preparing and administering a Revenue Policy for a large organisation.
• Experience in rates forecasting in a medium to large Council.
• Demonstrated experience in leading & managing a team.
  
• Experience with Civica Authority local government software will be highly regarded.
  

Remuneration and Benefits

Employment Type: Full time, Permanent 35 hours per week

Salary (exclusive of super): In the range of $118,326.96 to $133,188.30 depending on skills and experience

This role also qualifies for a vehicle allowance.
