Mater is currently looking for a Revenue Officer - Right of Private Practice (RoPP) to join the team. This is a maternity contract for a 12 month period.Salary range: $42.05 - $46.33 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900What you'll be doing
As a Revenue Officer with Mater, you will ensure accurate and timely processing of medical billing to Medicare, DVA, health funds, QComp and other third parties according to relevant legislation and related contracts. You will also:
- Process manual and electronic payments and receipts
- Verify and lodge Medicare and Eclipse claims
- Manage rejections and billing errors
- Health fund eligibility checks, patient informed consent and quote preparation
- Investigate and resolve account queries for patients, health funds and third parties
- Liaise and follow up with providers, clinic staff, third parties, health funds, Medicare, patients and other stakeholders regarding outstanding billing and payments
- Collection of Medicare, health funds, third party and patient debt
- Provide reporting on activity, priorities and responsibilities as required by management
- Practitioner registration with health funds and Medicare, onboarding and offboarding
- System configuration and setup for practitioners, clinics, debtors and vendors
- Support End of Month business reporting and provider payment processes
- Point of contact for Practitioner reporting and requests
- System testing relating to fee updates and new setups
- Billing, receipting and system audit and analysis
- Receipting and Bank reconciliations
- Coordination of day to day workflows to ensure efficient delivery of department objectives
- Maintain, develop and comply with department policies and work instructions
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence and patient queries
- Review, preparation and processing of write offs, refunds and adjustment requests
- Provide input to the development, reporting and achievement of daily, weekly and monthly KPIs as required
- Provide support, education and upskilling for stakeholders on relevant systems, processes and compliance
- Assist Business Manager RoPP with project work as required
- Demonstrated experience of reporting, training, coordination of day to day operations and procedure and work instruction development
- Demonstrated experience in review and analysis of financial or billing related issues
- Knowledge of or the ability to acquire knowledge of Medicare Benefits Schedule, health fund, DVA and QComp legislation, regulations and guidelines
- Ability to meet deadlines and work to key performance indicators
- Prior experience in medical practice or hospital billing, health fund billing or Medicare claims
- Experience delegating and managing administrative workflows
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- A willingness and aptitude to learn and grow with the department
- The ability to work autonomously and as part of team
- Experience using TotalCare, IPM or other patient billing and administration software would be an advantage
