Atlas Professionals are currently seeking an experienced Rig Manager, for our client based initially in Perth Australia and then Malaysia .
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager – Asia Pacific, with functional reporting lines to the General Manager – Asia Pacific, the Rig Manager will have a vital role in managing and developing the Company’s business in the region. The Rig Manager will be Responsible for managing all aspects of the assigned MODU, ensuring all instructions and tasks are completed in a Safe, Efficient and Timely manner also responsible for providing mentoring to onshore MODU support team and offshore MODU management team.
Key Responsibilities
The Rig Manager will be required to facilitate and manage the company’s integrated Business Management system to levels that will successfully achieve the requirements of all interested parties including customer, regulatory and certification authorities/providers.
- Ensure the efficient day to day performance of Company owned assets, with the objective of achieving the agreed Company targets. Monitor for continuous improvement of operation performance within HSE Guidelines, Company policies, government regulations, approved technical standards, contract requirements and budget constraints.
- Promote the Company culture and provide visible leadership in achieving the Company goals:
o Operational excellence.
o Cost effectiveness.
o Innovation
- Ensure all Third-Party services are sourced and managed to protect the interests of the company, its employees and customers.
- Lead the development of succession and career plans for both onshore support team and offshore management team, review and update on a semiannual basis.
- Undertake scheduled MODU visit on a regular basis to monitor operational performance, carry-out inspections and to communicate with the offshore crews.
- Mentor and coach offshore MODU management team in the development, preparation, use and reporting of operating systems and management reports.
- Attend and pro-actively participate in onshore meetings and training events.
- Undertake any other reasonable tasks as delegated by Line Manager.
- Assist in Developing business growth in the Asia Pacific regions through use of experience and networks.
- Provide support to select, manage and develop staff to fulfil the Company growth plans with “home grown” talent where possible, populate the succession plan.
- Represent the Company at external events and promote the Company’s values and interests.
ESSENTIAL
• Minimum 5 years of experience working with a Jack Up
• Prior experience in managing international operations (Malaysia Preferred)
• Offshore survival & mandatory training
• IWCF Level 4 Drilling Surface/Subsea certification
DESIRED
• First degree in Engineering or Petroleum discipline
• Business management qualification
