Risk & Controls Advisor

Open to all icare offices

• Can work in Parramatta, Sydney-CBD, Newcastle, Gosford or Wollongong
• Permanent full-time role managing and supporting Line 1 Risk activities

About the Role
This is a permanent full-time role, responsible for providing direct support to the Line 1 Risk Manager on a range of Line 1 risk compliance, controls, and assurance activities for the Insurance for NSW & HBCF schemes.
This role will foster internal and external partner services to identify risk profiles and responses, establishing, testing, and reporting on controls and continual improvement of customer outcomes, as well as undertake incident, issue & action management activities, including fostering and supporting a risk aware culture.

Duties
It's an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; in this role you will:

• Develop and implement robust strategies to support the business in the identification and management of risks and controls, in alignment with team and business key priorities.
• Support the development, implementation and response to risk profiles for IfNSW and HBCF schemes.
• Provide risk, compliance, control, incident, and issue management advice to the IfNSW and HBCF schemes and management including facilitation of workshops, presentations, and leadership of relevant governance forums.
• Support development and implementation of the controls schedule, which details monthly planned testing and reporting of controls, and develop action plans to address any deficiencies.
• Oversee and maintain the quality and integrity of risk information in the business risk system.
• Provide guidance and coaching in the delivery of the team's key priorities and on-maturity uplift.

Skills & Experience

• Recent experience in a similar role, developing and embedding strong Risk & Control programs and strategies.
• Well-developed understanding of business risk, mitigation, and assurance strategies gained through practical hands-on experience.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills to develop and maintain strong partnerships across an organisation including executives/senior management to drive results throughout the business.
