ADD VALUE - THE ROLE
We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to join the Integrated Risk Management team in the role of Risk Management Officer to help minimise Council’s risk exposure by assisting in the implementation and continuous improvement of an effective integrated Risk Management system. This role is responsible for administering Council’s insurance portfolio and processing of insurance claims. Additionally, the role supports the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Business Continuity Plan.
Previous experience and/or relevant qualifications in Insurance or Risk Management and working knowledge of AS ISO 31000:2018 and its application in the workplace is essential to be successful in this role.
Key responsibilities include:
Manage Council’s insurance portfolio including the management and administration of claims in a cost effective manner, maintaining privacy and confidentiality
Staff education and advice on Risk Management and insurance across the business
Ensure regular review of Council’s insurance coverage to minimise the potential for uninsured losses
Regular reporting, including collection and collation of statistical data, to key stakeholders across the business to improve understanding of Council’s risk profile
Contribute to the development and maintenance of Council’s risk registers
Facilitate alcohol and other drugs testing for staff in accordance with the Alcohol & Other Drugs protocol and procedure
Provide support for the follow-up of internal audit recommendations and the operation Council's Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee
Ensure the Integrated Risk Management page on Council’s intranet is up to date, comprehensive and user friendly
Ensure Council’s Business Continuity Plan is maintained and updated on a regular basis
Certified Practicing Risk Associate status will be highly regarded.
This position is offered on a permanent, full-time basis working 35 hours per week.
Remuneration package for this position is based on Grade 11 of Council's Salary System Protocol which equates to a base salary of $80,838 - $90,931 per annum plus superannuation.
