Position Vacant! RACV Patrol/Towing, Full time, part time or casual!
We’re excited to be expanding our team at On The Move Automotive (Racv Gisborne) and are looking for our next RACV Patrol/Towing team members. We have provided Roadside assistance supporting the people and visitors to our community on behalf of the RACV in Gisborne and surrounding areas. We are looking for locals that would like to join our team in either a fulltime, part time or casual capacity. We are open to a conversation about what might work for you personally and see if we can fit that into our team structure.
Are you;
- A trade Mechanic, Auto electrician or suitably skilled from the automotive industry
- Living within 20mins of Gisborne

The Position;
- Working a rotating roster, one that is open for discussion of hours and days
- Main purpose of the role is to provide assistance to our RACV members. This will include, but not limited to, wheel change, jump starting, battery fitting, performing lockouts, diagnosis of vehicle faults, performing minor repairs to get a vehicle going again and recognising when a vehicle requires towing.
- During the working week in the patrol car or tow truck you’d work out of our workshop and be on call after hours for your rostered days.
- When not on an active call you’ll support with the daily operations including some general clean up, vehicle repair, pickups, towing. While mechanical work won’t be booked for the team member working in the patrol car there is always work to do. Fatigue management training is provided and while after hours call outs are not common provisions are in place to ensure rest is provided if required during the working week. Health and safety is our priority.
What you’ll need;
- Current Driver's Licence
- A sound understanding of modern vehicle systems
- A good understanding of how to use a mobile and applications
- To be physically able to change wheels etc in at times challenging environments
- Have fantastic customer service skills, (we’re sometimes meeting people that are in the middle of a stressful situation for them, so being kind is critical)
- Be able to drive a medium ridged tow truck or at a minimum be confident in towing a car trailer or the willingness to learn how to and get your license. (This is not a mandatory requirement)
- Be able to work within WHS parameters
