Sprayline Roads Services (SRS) is a branch in Network Operations Division in Transport Services Group within the Department of Transport & Planning and is responsible for delivering road maintenance and construction services. SRS ensures that DTP remains an informed purchaser with commercial, operational and industry experience and knowledge, by operating in a commercial environment that maximises the financial, innovative, technological and reputational benefits for DTP and the Victorian community.

About the Role
- Full-time ongoing opportunities (flexibility available).
- Salary: $60,123 - $73,148 + 11% superannuation.
- Locations across Victoria: Swan Hill and Donald
The role performs a variety of road and bridge routine inspection, maintenance and construction activities and respond to emergencies under general supervision. The incumbent will be required to perform manual labour- intensive tasks in accordance with established safety, environmental and quality procedures.

Position Accountabilities
- Performed a variety of roadside and structural routine maintenance and construction activities while ensuring that quality, environmental and safety practices are observed and adhered to at all times; performed road pavement and drainage infrastructure maintenance works; constructed and maintained other road and roadside furniture; implemented traffic management plans and carried out traffic management; construction of minor civil works and safety improvements in accordance with best practices and procedures; Responded to emergencies under general supervision.
- Under general supervision, operated and maintained (where suitably trained or deemed competent) major plant and equipment and performed manual labour- intensive tasks in accordance with established safety, environmental and quality procedures.
- Exercised judgement to implement changes to existing work practices, policies and procedures that will result in business improvements in line with the business goals.
- Provided guidance to less experienced team members and developed them to gain required skills whenever required; performed duties in a team environment being an effective and cooperating team member whilst demonstrating DTP values.
- Exercised judgement to implement Worksite Traffic Management Plans, seeking advice and escalating issues to the supervisor or team leader where new or unforeseen issues cannot be resolved independently or by the work crew.
Qualifications and Experience
Mandatory
- Traffic Management ticket, 1st Aid certificate and MR license mandatory.
- Attend after hours call outs/emergencies when required.
- Driver's License
- Ordinary Hours of Work - This position will be required to undertake shift work which will include as part of a regular pattern or roster cycle Saturday, Sunday, Public Holiday, and/or afternoon/night shifts. This may include occasional overnight travel.
- You may be required to undertake a medical and other safety compliance requirement
