THE POSITION
Roland Australia is currently seeking a Product Specialist to cover our Synthesizer, Hi-Tech and DJ categories to create awareness for our products, work with our dealers, create content and do other activities that ultimately lead to increased sales.
The job has the following key elements:
- Provide product training for retail salespeople with hands-on ‘customer focused’ real world examples. Training should include sales techniques (i.e. top-down selling, cross-selling) to help dealers maximise transaction values.
- Monitor market conditions, consumer sentiment, and competitor activities to provide input to new product development, marketing, channel, or pricing strategies, and the demand forecasting process.
- Assist with creating and implementing effective marketing plans that generate demand and help move prospects to customers.
- Source and work with artists, influencers and industry partnerships, focusing on identifying and cultivating robust relationships with both individuals and business entities. Our goal is to foster mutually beneficial partnerships that contribute to shared success and growth.
- Recommend new and innovative ways to display Roland Products that maximize sales in high footfall areas and improve the brand's overall visibility.
- Have a thorough understanding of different marketing channels (e.g. website, blog, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram) and how to use them.
- A commercial understanding of the role, accompanied by a belief that providing application-based ‘value’ marketing will lead to sales.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The successful applicant will have the following skills and be able to demonstrate their experience in each area;
- Thorough knowledge of Synth and Hi-Tech products and their market segments. The ability to talk about different forms of synthesis and their technologies to a layperson.
- The ability to play Piano and Keys to a high level combined with comfortability and experience in live performance
- Exceptional communication skills and an ability to present confidently
- An ability to explain complex musical instrument technologies in simple terms and show their real world applications
- A good higher-level understanding of how to promote on social media, the structures and the language appropriate for each channel
- Appreciation of a customer-centric marketing approach
- Reliable, proactive “whatever it takes” attitude that ensures deadlines and standards are met
- Outstanding organisational and time management skills combined
- The ability to take ownership and responsibility for projects - it is essential that you are self-motivated and can work unsupervised to meet strict deadlines.
- An ideal applicant will have previous retail experience in an MI or technology store and thorough knowledge of our dealers' daily challenges.
