About the role
As a key member of the P&C executive team, the Director, Workforce Management is responsible for leading the design and delivery of strategic talent management practices. These practices need to ensure the department has effective workforce planning and job design coupled with a strong value proposition that attracts and retains high performing individuals, so they can be deployed to the right place, at the right time. The department’s approach to recruitment, selection, talent and succession needs to be tailored for the diverse nature of the workforce, covering education and corporate professionals as well as support cohorts operating across the state.
The Director will lead a team of multidisciplinary staff to ensure the department is well-prepared to respond to current and emerging workforce requirements, and will drive innovative and contemporary practice, excellence in operational execution and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and competencies:

  • Strong management and leadership skills with significant experience leading teams and establishing a culture of performance, professionalism and continuous improvement to drive excellence.
  • In-depth knowledge of contemporary people practices with a particular focus attraction and recruitment practices.
  • Proven high level interpersonal and negotiation skills with demonstrated success in achieving change through collaborative practice and exercising influencing skills with stakeholders.

Special Conditions:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course which will be required to be updated every three years.
