About the Role
The Senior Clinician/Lead role at The Safe Wayz & Specialist Counselling Services is a crucial position within the Specialist Counselling Services Program at Albury Wodonga Health. This dual role involves contributing to the clinical oversight of the Sexual Assault Service, Child Protection Counselling Service, and the newly introduced Safe Wayz program, which focuses on prevention and response to violence, abuse, and neglect (PARVAN) funded services in New South Wales (NSW).

 Key Responsibilities:

  1. Counselling ServicesClinical Lead Duties (50% of the role):
  • Provide clinical input and leadership to clinicans.
  • Offer supervision and support to team members.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality specialist casework and intervention services.
  • Implement evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches in service provision.
  • Work towards ensuring that children and families receive effective and appropriate care.
  • Safe Wayz Senior Clinician Duties (50% of the role):
    • Coordinate primary prevention and early intervention supports.
    • Address and respond to problematic or harmful sexual behaviors (PHSB) in children under 10 years of age.
    • Adopt a strength-based, family-focused, and culturally centered trauma-informed approach.
    • Work to prevent the escalation of behaviors and contribute to the well-being of children and families.

     Overall, the role aims to:

    • Provide Clinical Leadership and supervision to ensure a high standard of care.
    • Support team members in delivering trauma-informed services.
    • Coordinate primary prevention and early intervention efforts.
    • Address problematic or harmful sexual behaviors in young children.
    • Uphold a strength-based, family-focused, and culturally sensitive approach.
    • Activly participate on the on call roster

     The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in implementing and enhancing the organization's services, contributing to the well-being and safety of children and families. Additionally, they will need to navigate both Clinical Leadership responsibilities and specific duties related to Safe Wayz, ensuring a balanced and effective approach to the dual aspects of the role.

    Employment Type: This is a Full Time, Fixed Term (18month) opportunity.
