An opportunity has arisen for the position of Safety and Administration Officer to join the Shire of Cuballing. Based at the Shire works depot in the Cuballing townsite, the role will be permanent part time, 15 hours per week with the hours and days of work offering flexibility for the right candidates.
Roles and Responsibilities
As a Safety and Administration Officer you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and provision of administrative and other relevant support to the works depot and other relevant stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:-
- Oversee recording of workplace health and safety legislation compliance and monitoring including preparation of Agenda and Minutes.
- Provide administrative support to Manager of Works and Services, Works Supervisor, safety representatives and other relevant staff.
- Liaising with site contacts and processing relevant documentation.
- Improve procurement processes and compliance with Purchasing Policy including raising Purchase Orders.
- Data entry and other general administration tasks.
- Improve works administration processes to ensure compliance.
- Identify and implement strategies to improve workplace safety and health.
- Ensuring all enquiries are conducted in a timely and professional manner.
- Arranging and co-ordinating staff meetings.
- Maintaining accurate databases and records.
- Managing training schedules and booking courses and testing.

- High level of commitment to safety.
- Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety will be highly regarded.
Desirable
- Local Government administration experience.
- Experience in the use of SynergySoft software.
