SAFETY ADMINISTRATOR/TRAINEE

We are seeking a Safety Administrator or Trainee to join our Kalgoorlie team. This is an exciting, fast paced, multi-faceted role within a fast growing, family friendly, local business.
The successful candidate may have experience in a similar role, or have previous administrative experience, with a desire to study and complete a Traineeship in the Safety industry. Should a Traineeship be offered, the successful candidate will be mentored throughout by an industry expert whilst learning on the job!
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the development of and then disseminating HSEQ information (safety alerts/toolbox topics etc)
- Maintain and update the STEMS database including adding new employees, archiving ex-employees, update training records, licences and inductions.
- Assistance with onboarding of new employees, including issuing of inductions.
- Assist with the implementation of HSEQ procedures and coordinate the sign- off by employees before recording in STEMS.
- Initial incident reporting and Workers Compensation processing (documentation, consultation with insurer etc).
- Monitor training compliance on training matrix and scheduling of training when required.
- Assist with site mobilisation compliance as required (NPC, Medicals etc).
- Complete workshop and office inspections and evacuation drills at all Worthy Group Kalgoorlie locations.
- Complete hazardous substance risk assessments and maintain the register.
- Complete and maintain PEV risk assessments.
- Subcontractor evaluation and questionnaire management.
- Completion of prequalification processes for current or new clients/tenders/projects.
- Liaise with providers to carryout plant/equipment inspections.
- Complete first aid kit inspections and restock
- Maintain employee lists across platforms (LMS, STEMS, Alcolizer/ComplyOne).
Requirements
- An interest and passion for individual career growth in the HSEQ field is required.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- High level of initiative with decision making abilities and a ‘can do’ attitude.
- High level organisational skills with outstanding attention to detail.
- Experience using Microsoft Office.
- Previous experience in the safety industry and/or knowledge would be advantageous.
- Must have a valid C class drivers licence, National Police Clearance (less than 12 months old) and the ability to pass a pre-employment medical (including drug and alcohol screening).
