What's on offer?
Our Pipelines department in the delivery of sewer and water construction activities, predominately undertaken in the land development sector across the East & South Eastern Metro Melbourne and West Gippsland are looking for an SEQ Advisor to join the Southern Region team.
What we're looking for:
We're looking for a SEQ Advisor to support our Pipelines department in construction of sewer and water assets, predominately in the land development & Water Authority sectors.
The core duty of the SEQ Advisor role is to provide practical, hands-on SEQ support and collaboratively work with staff at all levels of the business ensuring best practice standards are being met and exceeded. This position is based at Noble Park & across various construction sites.
As part of your responsibilities, you will:
- Ensuring our SEQ systems are developed, maintained & appropriate for effective implementation.
- Use of our current SEQ systems to meet reporting requirements (monthly reporting, objectives & targets)
- Ensuring uniformity throughout our numerous crews and communicating alternate methods to assist in developing all of our crews carry out their works to an best practices of safety and quality
- Develop and implement SEQ related plans and procedures i.e. SWMS, EMPS etc.
- Conduct safety assessments, site inspections and SEQ audits
- Liaison in the management of injuries and Return to Work processes to achieve the best outcomes
- Personnel/subcontractor/plant inductions, risk assessments, and reviewing and implementation of our current SWMS
- Assist in the Reporting and management of incidents, non-conformances and near misses and coordinate/participate in investigations as required
- Collecting, analysing and updating data for reported injuries, hazards, incidents and near misses
- Liaising with project personnel and subcontractors to discuss issues and or incidents and corrective actions
- Undertake Verification of Competencies, facilitate D&A policy, calibrations, testing & tagging
- Reviewing and implementing legislative and regulatory changes
- Leading relevant safety training
- Drive and champion a culture of self-improvement that is focused on the pillars of safety, environment & quality
How you will connect to the role:
- SEQ professional with sound industry experience, inclusive of the Water & Land Development Construction environment
- Understanding of AS/NZS ISO 14001, AS/NZS ISO 9001 and AS/NZS 4801
- Sound systems development, implementation and management experience
- A strong commitment to our Living Safely culture
- Ability to travel to provide support to our metro and regional teams
- Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritise workloads
- Ability to work collaboratively with all connections to achieve positive outcomes
