Safety Advisor

As a member of the Lineage team, you are a critical link in the food supply chain.The Asia-Pacific region currently includes Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Singapore employing nearly 3000 team members.As we continue our transformation and growth journey in the region, we are now looking to appoint a Safety Advisor to join the team at our Lurnea facility in Sydney.This is an initial fixed-term contract for a minimum of 7 months due to maternity leave.The key purpose of the role is to support a best practice safety culture by developing and implementing site specific target safety programmes, collect and collate safety data and produce reports to support safety initiatives, provide advice and guidance to frontline Leaders on safety matters.Key areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:Developing strong internal relationships to actively reinforce and promote best practice in safety, including the Zero Harm CharterDeveloping safety functioning skills within the leadership team and broader work group, through Safety Leadership training, coaching and mentoring.Monitoring, evaluating and recommending improvements to the safety systemMonitoring all incidents raised in the safety reporting system and providing coaching and support where required to improve safety functioning skills in raising incident reportsMonitoring compliance with workplace policies and procedures through conducting formal and informal internal audits, including audits of external contractorsDeveloping and documenting procedures, safe work method statements and job safety analysisAssisting in the implementation of strategies to ensure continuous improvement in Chain of Responsibility complianceFollow practices and procedures regarding Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ), HACCP and Approved Arrangement guidelines whilst also ensuring Chain of Responsibility (CoR) complianceTo be successful, you will ideally have:Extensive experience in a similar roleQualifications in Safety or related disciplinesExcellent knowledge of the workplace, health and safety legislation, with the ability to interpret relevant legislationExperience in conducting operational risk assessmentsExperience in managing workers compensation claims, injury management and return to work programsExperience in partnering with operational Leaders to drive and maintain a strong safety cultureStrong understanding and implementation of safety procedures, product safety, quality and legality issuesLead Auditor qualificationsWhat's exciting about this opportunity?As a values-based business, we put the safety and respect of our team first because we firmly believe the foundation for stability & growth starts with trust, support and collaboration.You will also get to work with a cohesive & friendly team with the experience to get you settled in and up to speed quickly.As the global leader in temperature-controlled logistics, you will also have the opportunity to build a long-term, stable career working with some of the most talented professionals in the industry.Why Lineage?Lineage is more than just a cold storage logistics business.
