The Suburban Connect consortium, comprising CPB Contractors, ACCIONA and Ghella, have been selected by the Victorian Government to deliver the first major tunnelling package on the Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East project.
The package includes construction of a 16-kilometre section of the project’s twin tunnels, including tunnelling between Cheltenham and Glen Waverley, 55 safety cross passages between the tunnels, station boxes at Clayton and Monash and the construction of portals – the entrances and exits to the tunnels – at the stabling facility.

In this role you will be responsible for delivering health and safety based training to a large operational workforce.
This will include:
• Developing training materials relevant to Suburban Connect’s scope and risk profile
• Deliver Training in various locations
• Performing ongoing assurance activities of the Suburban Connect training program, ensuring the right people are performing the right work
• Ensure training records are maintained, kept up to date, and processes are reviewed for efficiency
Desirable requirements for this role include:
• Experience working on construction projects in a health and safety training related role, ideally in civil and high-risk construction environments
• Experience in understanding and communicating company systems and processes and providing workers with training and support to work safely and keep the public safe
• Strong relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills
• Experience in demonstrating and communicating safe work behaviours to maintain high levels of risk awareness
• Strong administrative proficiency
• Experienced and / or qualified across a range of high risk construction competencies which may include high-risk work licences; cranes and lifting, working at heights, electrical / task spotting; live services; electrical work; mobile plant operations, rail operations, traffic control, HVNL and CoR, hazardous manual handling, confined space, hazardous substances and dangerous goods, asbestos awareness and ICAM.
Our minimum requirements for the role are:
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
• Certificate IV in WHS
• Proficiency in utilising systems to complete administrative tasks (Microsoft 365; Excel and PowerPoint, database management)
• Proven ability to develop and deliver training packages
• Experience in presenting to groups in the workplace
• Well-developed understanding in the interpretation of legislation
• Development of reports and close out of corrective actions
