Are you an experienced Safety & Compliance professional seeking a new challenge? Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Safety & Compliance Advisor to join their dynamic team in Sydney.
As a Safety & Compliance Advisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that operations adhere to the highest safety standards and regulatory requirements. Your responsibilities will include conducting audits, supporting compliance efforts, developing safety frameworks, and collaborating with the Risk & Compliance Manager to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy industry, particularly in manufacturing and logistics, with a focus on safety knowledge, audits, and compliance frameworks. This role offers ample opportunities for career growth and development within an expanding environment.
DUTIES
- Conduct audits and assessments to ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures
- Participate in external audits and collaborate in the responses to Regulatory Officers or other Third Party Consultants
- Oversee the Risk Register and ensure compliance with review programs
- Assess control effectiveness, collaborate on enhancement strategies with stakeholders
- Coordinate policy updates in the HSEQ Management System.
- Maintain and manage the company's SharePoint site for HSEQ
- Support business managers in legal engagement
- Analyse data, generate insightful reports for senior management
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience in safety management, auditing, and compliance within heavy industry settings
- Strong understanding of Safety and environmental frameworks and regulation
- Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to convey complex information effectively
- Australian industry experience required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Analytical skills and experience in organizing complex data into clear and compelling reports
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.
