Uniting WA has been serving the WA community since 1829 and today is one it the State’s major not-for-profit providers in : mental health; disability, housing; homelessness; children services; family supports; foster care; family violence; prisoner reintegration; NDIS supports; recovery options and financial wellbeing services. About the role
Uniting has a new opportunity for a Safety and Support Officer to work in a casual capacity to support people who are experiencing homelessness.
You will provide support for the development and delivery of homelessness services which achieve integrated support as well as providing relevant service referrals for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. The position is also responsible for achieving positive client, team and program outcomes with a focus on Safety and Support.

About you
You’re going to thrive in this job because you are:
- Able to manage the delivery of holistic support to individuals experiencing crisis due to homelessness, risk of homelessness which may include substance abuse, disability and mental health issues, and people of diverse cultural and religious backgrounds
- Outstanding in terms of your communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work and communicate effectively with staff, service users, volunteers, community agencies and other professionals
- Able to negotiate and resolve conflict
- Aware of referral services and agencies
- Experienced in referral, assessment and Support planning
We are seeking highly motivated people who have:
- Minimum qualification Certificate 2 Security Operations
- Current first aid
- Current National Police Clearance.
