An exciting opportunity exists to join Norfolk Foods and Rogue Foods - Australia's producers of value added and further processed meat products and plant based meat analogues.
The Opportunity
Located in Reservoir in a purpose built, state of the art facility, we have a permanent full-time opportunity for a Safety Graduate looking to grow and develop further in the safety space.
This role is strongly supported by the Group HSE Manager.
What you'll be doing with us
- You will advise, assist and support Norfolk Food employees and elected Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) in relation to occupational health and safety matters including occupational violence & aggression matters.
- Work together with the operations team to promote and embed a ‘safety first' culture and drive continuous improvement of the safety management system.
- The OHS Graduate will work with the Group HSE Manager to maintain the ISO 45001 & 14001 certifications.
- You will be required to regularly review and update safety policies, procedures and work instructions as required.
- Ensure OHS legislation and compliance requirements are adhered to.
- Conduct regular internal inspections and audits with support from the Group HSE Manager
- Coordinate emergency planning efforts and incident response management.
- Facilitate departmental safety meetings.
- Oversee the contractor management system.
- You will assist in the development, co-ordination and delivery of OHS related training.
- You will actively recruit and educate HSRs in the workplace.
Key Selection Criteria
- You hold tertiary or vocational qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety.
- You have an understanding of OHS and workers compensation legislation, standards and practices.
- The ability to complete risk assessments, lead incident investigations and implement preventative strategies to minimise OHS risks in the workplace.
- You have demonstrated ability to build productive working relationships.
- You are a strong team member who brings a positive attitude and enthusiasm and a continuous improvement mindset.
What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety
- You hold a current Victorian Driver’s License.
