Project Safety Manager – Tier 1 Construction Contractor 

Minecon Recruitment are working with a Tier 1 Construction leader to employ a full-time Project Safety Manager for Australia’s largest infrastructure Project. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, situated on various locations throughout Brisbane’s inner City. This opportunity will see you changing the way Queenslander’s travel. 

This role will have you reporting directly to the Health and Safety Director and maintain a working relationship with internal and external teams.

Key accountabilities include, but do not limit to:

• Demonstrate a personal commitment to the safety and health framework, policies and management system requirements and expectations;
• Assist in reviewing Project wide Contractor Safety Management Plans to ensure conformance to requirements
• Lead or participate in investigations, as requested by the Project Health & Safety Director, into all high potential incidents to identify root causes and appropriate corrective/preventative actions
• Assist in monitoring project compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements and all relevant Company and Joint Venture policies and processes
• Regular liaison with site personnel particularly working closely with Safety Administrators, Safety Advisors and Senior Safety Advisors
• Maintaining effective relationships with the Regulator, Client and other key stakeholder groups where appropriate
• Preparing SHEQ reports within given time-frames, and ad hoc reports as requested by Project Health & Safety Director
• Providing guidance and support to site-based Safety Administrators and Safety professionals

Minimum requirements to be considered: 

• Tertiary qualification within Health and Safety
• Experience with ICAM lead investigator
• Experience managing and working with Building finishing trades highly desirable
• Experience with Lead auditor safety 
• 5 to 10 years’ experience within a site-based, Health and Safety role (Construction)
• Previous and proven experience as a Safety Manager within the Building and Construction or Civil industries 
• Proven experience with a top-tier or mid-tier building or Civil Contractor
• qualifications and experience in SHEQ lead auditing (desired)
• Experience in implementing management systems and proven capacity to influence and build team relationships.
