Our client is a leading multi-trade construction company with more than 21 years' experience in the private and public housing sector. They are specialized in public housing restorations, upgrade works and new construction. We are looking for a Safety & Quality Officer who is detail-oriented to join our team.

In your role as a Safety & Quality Officer, you will be working as part of a supportive team that focuses on delivering outstanding projects that exceed our clients' expectations.
You will be completing safety and quality site inspections and monitoring the corrective action process. You will be dealing with Construction's clients, subcontractors and employees while maintaining an efficient operation and stimulating a high level of safety and quality awareness.
Key responsibilities of the role include:- Lead by example in always stimulating a high level of safety and quality awareness.
- Daily reporting of hazards and issues to the HSQE Manager across sites
- Conduct in-progress WHS and Quality inspections, produce inspection reports of sites and contractor vehicles and monitor the site instructions process.
- Complete site safety/quality audits and monitor the corrective action process.
- Carry out work completion quality inspections ensuring work is validated against client requirements and verified against technical requirements.
- Monitor trends in poor workmanship and WHS practices and handle these trends across the workforce or with specific trades/work teams.
- Stop, reject or quarantine use of unsafe work areas, work methods, materials, plant and equipment.
- Enforce compliance to WHS/Quality obligations and monitor compliance with procedures.
- Support site supervisors by supervising high risk work and complex safety situations at site.
- Assisting with safety and quality site paperwork
- Handling any site incidents that occur whilst conducting visits.
- Support WHS consultation processes.
- Provide high level quality advice and support to the maintenance support team.
- Maintain system targets and records.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
- 5 years experience in building site environments as a safety/Quality Officer or tradesperson.
- Sound knowledge of the overall processes that occur during maintenance and building work.
- Valid driver's license for driving between different locations throughout the Sydney Metro
Area
- Ability to communicate to different levels of the company from management to field staff.
- Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously.
Able to manage conflict well.
- Knowledge of the NSW WHS acts and regulations.
- Problem solving ability.
- White Card, High Risk Licence & HRS Certificate would be an advantage.
