The Role
Workplace Health & Safety Specialist
Reporting to the State WHS Manager, this role is responsible for the implementation of the safety strategy, system improvements and wellbeing initiatives across two hospitals, partnering with key stakeholders from executive leadership to operational leaders. Driving continuous improvement through coaching, technical support and governance.
You will act as the subject matter expert to increase engagement and awareness. Taking a strategic approach, you are the leader across this division with the autonomy to set up new initiatives and the opportunity to achieve across the core areas of safety, health and wellbeing.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualified in workplace health & safety with minimum 3 years’ experience.
- Industry experience in health, aged care or education preferred.
- Excellent people skills with ability to develop programs, promote and build and implement systems for delivery.
- Strong knowledge of legislation within workplace health & safety and Codes of Practice.
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders at all levels.
- Advanced conceptual and problem-solving skills with proven ability to use initiative effectively planning and prioritising.
