Overview:
CSA Mine is seeking a Safety Superintendent for our operations in Cobar, NSW. This hands-on leadership role is essential for enhancing safety protocols, leading investigations, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement. You will play a pivotal role in our operational success through meticulous compliance management and safety innovations.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety and Emergency Management:
- Oversee and manage the Safety and mentoring the Emergency team, guiding several direct reports.
- Drive the collection and analysis of safety data to identify trends and develop actionable insights for safety enhancements.
- Conduct comprehensive investigations into safety incidents, ensuring robust closure of actions and implementation of preventive measures.
- Lead initiatives to advance lead safety indicators and improve overall safety performance on-site.
- Champion and exemplify field leadership, actively engaging with teams to promote adherence to safety standards and practices.
- Spearhead cultural change within the team and across the mine site, instilling a proactive safety culture.
- Collaborate with various departments to seamlessly integrate safety protocols into all aspects of underground operations.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in underground mining operations.
- Demonstrated proficiency in safety management, with a track record of leading effective safety programs and incident investigations.
- Proven leadership in managing teams and fostering positive cultural changes focused on safety.
- Strong analytical skills to effectively manage safety data and drive decision-making processes.
Requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Safety Management, Emergency Response, or related fields.
- Solid background in underground mining operations.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and motivate a diverse team and influence change.
Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with NSW mining safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience in emergency preparedness and response tailored to underground mining settings.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Conditions:
This position ideally requires someone residential, based on-site on a 5/2 | 4/3 roster. Paid relocation assistance is provided and accomodation provided. For the right candidate, FIFO options will be considered. CSA also provides Pool & Gym Reimbursements to our employees and their dependents.

Located an eight-hour drive to Sydney, nine-hour drive to Melbourne, and a quick three-hour drive to Dubbo, Cobar is a fascinating town rich in mining heritage and natural attractions. Entertainment options include restaurants, pubs, and clubs for dining out.
