About the Role
This role provides administrative and hands on support to the National Safety Manager with a view to maximising the Group’s compliance with the Workplace Health and Safety Act, regulations and codes of practice. You will be assisting in minimising risk to our people through implementing and maintaining safe working conditions and practices across the Group’s workplaces.
Day-to-day Responsibilities
- Administer the Group QHSE software ensuring the integrity of the data and documentation and the system is being used to full effect.
- As directed perform scheduled and ad hoc site safety inspections, incident investigations, monitoring compliance with SWMS and other safe work procedures
- Assist with hazard identification, incident investigation, risk assessments and control programs.
- Actively participate in a schedule of regular workplace inspections and audits.
- As directed facilitate and monitor close outs of system improvements, NCRs and OFIs resulting from audits and inspections.
- Work with the HR Team to manage the effective Return to work (RTW) of injured employees
- Compile relevant, accurate Safety statistics and documentation for tenders and bids.
- Maintain safety registers including hazardous materials, SWMs, hazardous manual tasks
About you
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Diploma or higher qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety
- Willingness to travel to branch offices across Australia
- Building rapport and effective working relationships is something you are great at.
