We are currently looking for security cleared (NV1 or higher) Systems Safety Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis. No two days are the same in this role which is a highly influential position and essential to the success of the project. We are looking for multi-skilled, flexible, hardworking people with proven experience in a Defence environment who are keen to grow their career within a leading Defence supplier.
Based at Enoggera Barracks, This role will see you take on a range of tasks including developing safety engineering documentation, conducting mandated system reviews, drafting safety engineering reports and development of safety case reports.

What will I be doing day to day?
- Oversee, lead and manage the System Safety Program and Technical Services-Workplace Health and Safety Programs.
- Maintain the System Safety Program Plan (SSPP) and Technical Services-Workplace Health and Safety Programs (TS-WHSPP).
- Provided mentoring, advice, and leadership to individual MU (Product/Platform) System Safety Practitioners.
- Provide expert advice to individual MU’s WRT System Safety.
- Maintain oversight of MU produced hazard logs, SSRA’s, SAR’s.
- Provide SME support to SSRA/SAR processes
- Review Safety Assessments
- Execute System Safety Program for ACTSS
- Attend all safety conferences/boards, and conduct presentations as required.
- Manage the training requirements WRT System Safety and Workplace Health and Safety (Technical Services) for staff.
What sort of skills do I need?
- Demonstratable experience in the management and execution of Systems Safety Principles within a Defence Aerospace environment
- Bachelors degree in Engineering
- Systems Safety related qualifications (AQTF level 9)
- Experience in the development and management of technical systems and engineering artefacts
- Strong communication skills
- Process orientated with good attention to detail
- Hold a minimum NV1 security clearance (must be an Australian citizen)
