Overview of Position
The role of Sales Consultant is a critical part of the team that will drive sales & complete tasks to support the sales team. The role is responsible for engaging directly with customers & brokers to understand needs, deliver outstanding sales service and ensure that individual acquisition and renewal targets are achieved. The Sales Consultant Agent will be responsible for.
- Achieving individual acquisition and renewal targets to achieve NBE’s goals
- Understanding customer & broker needs and selling the right product
- Providing outstanding experience that leaves customers with confidence in their purchase decision
- Delivering reporting & data accurately to assist the team internally
- Responding to broker enquiries for pricing requests
Reporting directly to the Internal Sales Manager, the role primarily focuses on achieving individual acquisition and renewal targets, whilst maintaining outstanding customer & broker experience outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Sales
- Achieve new customer acquisition targets for individual agent
- Achieve renewal customer NMI target for internal sales team
- Proactively follow up new and existing customers & brokers and manage sales pipeline
- Follow sales scripts and processes to maintain positive regulatory and compliance
- Ensure customers understand fully what they are agreeing to before getting Explicit Informed Consent (EIC)
- Obtain Explicit Informed Consent (EIC) for all sales
- Obtain LOA and authorisation when providing agreements to brokers
- Understand customer & broker needs through questions and build in the moment relationships to facilitate sales
- Ensure all products and offers sold meet or exceed identified needs and be able articulate how
Sales Capability Development
- Complete all mandatory compliance training and other training as directed
- Participate in a weekly review of calls made to customers with one up manager for coaching
- Attend weekly sales meeting and provide insights on sales made and lost
- Assist other sales channel or as directed to help build new processes and on-board new channels
Business Improvement
- Assist with identifying process issues that are hindering sales and provide suggested changes
- Identify blockers to sales and suggest solutions
- Work with other teams across the business where required to expedite customer transfers or pricing requests
Customer Service
- Deliver outstanding customer experience with every customer engagement
- Listen to customers challenges and be empathetic
- Be proactive in taking ownership of a customer problem and resolve to avoid complaints

Qualifications/Competency
Essential
- Demonstrated track record in B2B sales in energy markets via both inbound and outbound campaigns
- Very strong interpersonal motivational and relationship building skills
- Strong verbal communication and documentation skills
- Be genuinely tactful, empathetic, diplomatic and understanding of customer needs and expectations
- Have a professional and reputable standing and ably represent the company
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, meet deadlines and work independently
- Hands on proficiency with MS Office
Desired
- Demonstrated track record in a similar role. 3 years + preferred
- Proven ability to negotiate - written and verbal
- Strong time management skills to ensure quality is high and customer satisfaction
- Excellent computer and business communication skills
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills
- Ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
- Self-motivated, proactive with a can-do attitude.
